Our client insources a communications team within a professional services business with an exceptional reputation, in particular for its insight on technology and media issues and developments. This team is responsible for how they communicate both internally and externally, encompassing media relations, social channels and digitally enabled internal comms.
They are now looking to bolster the communications team with a Media Relations Manager. As a corporate communication and PR specialist, you’ll take responsibility for fostering apposite and meaningful media relationships and devising and delivering a range of creative and effective campaigns. Acting as first port of call for all media enquiries but proactively seeking to gain coverage, your focus will be on enhancing the firm's international reputation - helping them win new clients, influence senior decision-makers and generally raising their profile as experts in their field. In your role as Media Relations Manager developing partnership opportunities with digital and traditional media channels and offering advice on boosting individuals' profiles will also form part of your remit.
With several years’ relevant PR experience within professional services, and/or exposure to the technology or media industry, you will have the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders and be a gifted writer and great communicator. Knowledge of press management and monitoring, crisis communication experience and the ability to juggle sometimes competing priorities are also essential. Language skills and international exposure would be a real advantage.
