
THE ROLE
This is a wonderfully exciting role for a social media genius! My client is one of the leading West End media agencies with a great reputation in digital. It is one of the early adopters of social media and has a reputation for employing the brightest social media stars in the industry. The agency only delivers the best to its clients and therefore is looking for the best social media minds in the industry.
As Social Media Planning Director your role will be to manage client relationships and maximise revenue within a set of social accounts, overseeing a mixture of always-on and project-based campaigns together with ensuring work is integrated with the wider social and digital teams.
The role will be vital in identifying new opportunities, selling the ideas to clients and then overseeing execution of them across multiple channels, often in collaboration with outside agencies such as production houses, PR agencies & creative agencies.
The role spans 3 key areas:
Strategy: Developing and selling in Social strategy, based on key insights using buzz intelligence tools (some bespoke) and in-house insights team.
Production: Linking strategy with content to engage with people and add value to them. This can include anything from Video, Social applications, Mobile applications, Music, Web experiences.
Engagement: Applying a strategy and taking branded content out to the right people. Whether this is influential bloggers, or engaging in a community the role will require you to take the right content to the right people, and plan accordingly.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
You must have a track record in social media at a highly recognised organisation - preferably a digital, media or integrated agency; or a leading media owner / client.
You must have experience in developing overarching social media strategies that cover the main social media channels.
You must have experience in using relevant insight and buzz monitoring tolls such as Radian 6, Hootsuite etc.
Have first rate account management skills and ability to multi task, while being a strong presenter and excellent communicator.
Driven, dedicated and passionate about social media.
Keen blogger or voracious consumer of blogs and social networks.
Able to evangelise about social networking and put forward best practice case studies.
Demonstrate a solid and future proofed understanding of blogger outreach and social networking and its role within the wider marketing mix.
