Category Insights Controller

Based near Cambridge, our client are an established £1bn business now setting up a new Business Unit in the UK, having recently acquired an established and much loved portfolio of British brands. With investment available and a clear growth strategy for existing brands as well as NPD, this is a unique opportunity to play a key role within a "start up" with investment! There is a clear plan in place to treble the size of the current business over the next 5 years.
As the Category Insights Controller and reporting into the Commercial Director, you will be charged with identifying clear growth strategies for the newly acquired portfolio, working closely with sales and marketing stake holders, you will drive the agenda to ensure that customer insight is applied at every turn, enabling brands to outsmart the competition as well as identify new NPD opportunities. In turn, this will also drive the focus and investment at customer level, influencing range reviews and building distribution where possible. This will include responsibility for ensuring the company and it's portfolio of brands are high on the customer agenda across both multiple grocers and independents, ultimately delivering category growth.
To be successful in this unique Category Insights Controller role, you must come armed with a proven track record of delivering brand and category growth in a grocery (ideally food but non food may be considered) UK business. Equally, you will be passionate about achieving great results and take responsibility and ownership in all you do as well as have an entrepreneurial approach in how you plan and apply your thinking.
