Senior Category Manager for General Mills

Top FMCG Company, General Mills are looking for "irresistible solutions for shoppers and retailers" and their objective is to be recognised as the leader in shopper and retailer engagement within UK FMCG. As a result they are looking for a Senior Category Manager to help them achieve this vision.
The Senior Category Manager will develop and own the rolling 3 year Category Vision, Drivers and Tactics for two major GMUK categories, and to sell in this vision, drivers and tactics to external retail customers and internally to the wider category & customer marketing team, the sales and marketing teams.
This role is strategically very important as it is expected that it will allow the wider team to deliver category thought leadership to customers, in order to gain disproportionate advantage for their brands. Key responsibilities will be:
*Develop and own the rolling 3 year Category Vision, Drivers and Tactics for two categories
*Be a key participant in the ongoing brand planning, influencing the shape of brand innovation/promotion/pricing/packaging strategies in line with Category Visions, Drivers and Tactics
*Act as an 'early warning radar' for the UK business through ongoing key metrics analysis and monitoring for relevant categories

Other essential requirements for this role are:
*A strong proven track record in FMCG experience working with the main UK retailers
*Solid client side experience
*Significant accumulated experience of FMCG Category Management analysis and techniques
*Accustomed to building and telling a category and shopper story, taking a stand to deliver with impact
*Good line management experience as you will have two direct reports
*Excellent relationship building skills. Must have gravitas and impact
