My client is an award winning multi channel retailer, with numerous accolades including Multi Channel Retailer of the year, Best On boarding Strategy and winner of the Innovation award for offering a 1st of a kind in the UK market . They have consistently ranked in the top 5 most visible fashion websites in the UK. This successful fashion business have had growth for 14 consecutive quarters and now boast an eCommerce team of over 70 . They have a fantastic opportunity for a new Head of Multichannel .


Head Of Multichannel (Business Development) - London - Client Side The Role


Key Responsibilities Include

*Take full business ownership of the five major long term initiatives including proposition development.

*Work with the Director of Ecommerce to identify additional major strategic project initiatives to contribute to the future bottom line growth.

*Create a business case to identify customer need and profit opportunity, defining the scope of the project and the business areas involved.

*Outline the top line implementation plan, budgets required and payback for each project.

*Responsible for the sourcing, RFP and negotiations of new suppliers and partners required to deliver new channels. This also includes management of existing relationships

*Define IT Work with the project office and own the critical path to deliver the project - linking in with key stakeholders and functions as appropriate to deliver on specialist needs.

*Arrange reporting and analysis to determine the success of new launches.

*P&L ownership ,including determining staffing levels, marketing activity, etc.

*Build and develop relationships across the business as needed to support the initiatives. In particular, effective relationships with the Retail teams are critical to success.

Existing key strategic initiatives:

*Evolve the mCommerce capabilities

*Develop and launch the iPhone App with additional core functionality to deliver best user experience

*Redevelop the mobile optimised version of the website into an HTML5 feature rich experience that more closely represents the thick client experience of the iphone App

*Identify the roadmap for new device specific Apps and new technologies

*Develop and launch country specific websites with local language & currency capabilities,to grow the share of international sales.

*Digital enhancements in stores - evolve the digital capabilities of our stores across mobile, digital screens and the evolution of the customer interaction in concept stores

*Develop a strategy for development of Interactive TV capabilities as an additional channel to market.

Management Responsibilities:

*Inspirational leadership style to deliver consistent customer service and KPI achievement, coaching the business development managers to maximise potential and improve skills.

*Recruiting, training and retaining a high calibre business development team.

*Management by objective not tasks, periodically setting and reviewing key objectives, monitoring the performance and progress of individuals, and initiating appropriate steps to drive or celebrate improvements.

*Setting a framework of excellence and a work ethic focussed on delivery and right first time

*Manages both external and internal relationships through effective planning, organisation and communication


*An active and effective contributor to the senior management team, contributing to the overall strategy of the ecommerce division and able to step up to represent the Director of Ecommerce if required.


Skills and Experience Required:

*A dynamic senior head to lead a new business development function to develop new routes to market and to ensure the continual growth in this multichannel business.

*They will be a real online enthusiast, with a passion for putting the customer first and an analytical approach to decision making.

*Client side experience critical

*Demonstrate a proven track record of on budget on time project delivery

*Demonstrate a proven accountability of budget ownership and control, forecasting, planning and trading

*Excellent man management skills - managing and mentoring a growing team

*Fluent and flexible communicator with strong interpersonal skills - developing key relationships internally and externally

*The ability to work to challenging deadlines, handle large workloads and work under pressure

*Commercial acumen

*Team player
