Communications Manager, Media Owner

London£30000 to £35000 per annum

An excellent opportunity to join one of the largest Global Media Owners. Working as part of their central resource team, this role will have responsibility for both internal and external communications. Experience in a Media environment is important to ensure an excellent understanding of the key requirements. This is a fantastic chance to join a truly brilliant team, and incredibly exciting company. Key industry contacts in trade press are desirable.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Working as part of the Communications team which is the central resource for communications across the
company. Responsible for communicating company news internally and externally.
DUTIES
 To use all channels of communication including: company websites, social media, trade press, newsletters and
other internal and external channels of communication to keep staff and clients informed about news, products, research and other developments.
 To identify and create content to keep websites, social media and other channels up-to-date.
 To maintain company profile in the key trade press titles and industry websites, to write press releases and to be the first point of contact for the press.
 To write a monthly external newsletter with scope to develop this further.
 To develop the use of video/photography as part of the communications` strategy.
 Working with the wider Communications team to help with conference/ team events organisation when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
 Must have excellent communication skills - including the ability to write persuasive, engaging copy in a variety of styles - ranging from highly corporate press releases to short, snappy copy more suited to social media/video presentations.
 Must have an excellent attention to detail and be able to proof-read copy. Enthusiasm, flexibility and a ‘can-do`attitude is important.
 Have an ‘eye` for a story, a creative bent and understand how PR works as part of the wider communications`mix.
 Have an understanding of social media and ideally have experience of using it in a work/B2B capacity.
 Some knowledge of the media industry/corporate communications.
 An interest in or an understanding of videography/photography/advertising/design
