The most important responsibility will be to define an ongoing digital plan, including requesting large budgets, defining best points to introduce new members of the team etc. This role will report into non digital department heads, and as such you will be relied upon to know the best ways of increasing ROI using digital channels.
The successful candidate is highly likely to come from a background within either FMCG or a retail environment, either as an E-Commerce Manager, Executive or similar. They should have worked at a similar level, and have key proven deliverables to demonstrate the positive effects digital marketing can have on a businesses bottom line. This individual will need to have a broad digital mindset, and is likely to have worked at both a strategic and implementational level on all areas of the digital mix.
The most important aspect of the requirements is commercial ability. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate, in numbers, where key achievements have come in the past and how these have impacted on sales, in order to do the same again. Since you will be reporting to non digital directors, you must be able to communicate in non digital - and highly commercial -terms.
