This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Media Officer to work for our client, a leading children’s charity committed to making childhood better.

Salary: £33,900 - £38,150 including inner London weighting
Hours: 35 per week
Never before has the need for high quality media coverage, highlighting the needs of this country’s most vulnerable children been so acute. Every day, millions of children are growing up in poverty. Every day, children and teenagers are fleeing their homes and care and way too often running into trouble. Every day, tens of thousands of young carers are sacrificing their childhoods to support acutely ill or disabled parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents. The list goes on.
Our client is searching for a Senior Media Officer to lead all of the organisation’s regional and local media work.
This is a pivotal role, forging key relationships and building important profile for this leading children’s charity up and down this country, with particular emphasis on key regional hubs. They have embarked on a new strategy to integrate their campaigning work across every part of the organisation. They are focused on making a huge impact on tackling child poverty and the shocking neglect and discrimination faced by teenagers and older children. Their regional and local media activity is a key component of this.
You will be a self-starter who knows exactly how to work with people across all types of teams, and with external contacts, to get the best possible results. You will bring an excellent working knowledge of media across all platforms and a strong understanding and experience of how to drive the news agenda.
Above all, you will be driven by a determination to make an enormous positive difference to disadvantaged children and be passionately committed to the values that underpin everything the organization does to achieve this.
